UP & RUNNING, the shop that keeps Cambridge running!

Having opened in July 2011, the Up and Running store here in Cambridge has gone from strength to strength with the growing support from the local running community. With a great location in the city centre, this store is easy to access.

Meet our staff

Joseph Andaya -  "Joe works weekends for us and as he says, he is the unlikely runner who hated it until he had the idea of running 26.2 miles for his 26th birthday. He now enjoys running but has yet to tick off that marathon goal, despite being past 26 years old. He has, however, done three consecutive Great North Runs, numerous 5 and 10K runs and now hopes to do a full marathon before he's 36."

Jack Moyers -  Jack is the full-time employee here in Cambridge. Since qualifying as a personal trainer and athletics coach he has enjoyed instructing people on their fitness activities. Working in Up & Running allows him to utilise this experience in exercise and fitness knowledge to advise you on the most appropriate equipment for your running. As an athlete he has taken part in many races, including running races, triathlons, adventures races and road cycling sportives - and he is always willing to pass on what he has learnt with those who need guidance.

Darryl Browne– Darryl is the manager of  the store and has been participating in long distance events for over 5 years and loves nothing more than crossing the finish line of a marathon or ultra, knowing he's challenged himself to the max. Future goals include 100-milers or 24-hr races. The thing he love's about running is that everyone who participates has their own individual goals and no distance is too small as he believe's just participating and getting the blood flowing is the key. The distance will follow if you learn to love the sport. He also loves passing on the knowledge he has learnt over his time running and could talk for hours about it to anyone who will listen.

Corinne Shepherdson - Corinne is a part time sales assistant in the Cambridge store. She began running in Germany at a very young age and continued when moving to England running in county cross country competitions. Within the last few months she has just started running again due to having other commitments and is hoping by next year to be running in a marathon or maybe more.  She also has a very strong passion for horses and owns two of her own which help keep her fit.

Gait Analysis

It's important that your running shoes fit correctly: our trained staff can help find the right shoes for you: in a short session on our treadmill they can do a video gait analysis using sophisticated Dartfish software.

Find out more about gait analysis at UP & RUNNING.

NB if you would like to enjoy the full benefits of our gait analysis system and shoe-fitting service, please arrive at least half an hour before shop closing time.

Thanks!

Informed opinion from our knowledgable staff and key customers ...

SUB 4 women's power shorts

I never thought a pair of lucky shorts would feature in my training ritual but there's a first for everything!
Initially quite dubious about making the jump from capri to tight short, I was adamant that the fit had to be spot-on.
Now, there's no excuses on a hot day.
I smashed my park circuit PB in these bad-boys by 1 minute 19 then later went on to get my fastest 10k in them too.
That's probably more down to my intense interval sessions that week but
I'm sure the shorts helped too!

Brooks EZ Track Tee

This lightweight, breathable top is ideal for relaxed training runs.
But what makes it stand out from most technical T's is that it doesn't look like your average nerdy run-gear but has all the moisture management you need for an intensive session.
It's your classic grey training top but without the sweat patches!
