store manager, has been running for nearly 30 years, inspired by Sebastian coe and steve ovett, enjoyed running 800 & 1500metres, in his early years, Now a vet40 he prefers something a bit more challenging, 10ks or half marathons, with a bit of mud and trail and hills thrown in normally do the trick.

A relative couch-potato until after university, Sam took up running in 2009 to improve his fitness and lung capacity, a critical factor for a professional French Horn player! He joined his local club, Ealing Eagles, and quickly fell in love with running in the mountains and exploring Britain's beautiful coastlines. Between international concerts he has plodded across such diverse landscapes as Chinese slums, Basque forest trails, and the world's most beautiful beaches in Bermuda. His crowing glory so far is winning the Running and Living Mumbai 10k, despite being held up en route by a passing tractor!

A great middle distance runner at school, setting the school record each year for 400m/800m and 1500m and cross country trials, this early talent was short lived. Competitive running was consigned to the back seat as university, several years of travelling and climbing the corporate career ladder, got in the way. I rediscovered my running Mojo this year after joining a local running club (West 4 Harriers). As a working mother of 4 children, running keeps me sane and would thoroughly recommend it to all harassed fellow mums, who need to carve out some time for themselves and make new friends. I was delighted to get a début time of 1.34 for my first half marathon this May and looking forward to setting myself new challenges this year.

still studying full-time, enjoys photography, he loves running in Richmond park, and working out at the gym.
