Darran Bilton - Manager Darran has recently joined Harrogate Up & Running after acting as Assistant Manager at our York branch for 3 years. Qualified as a UKA Coach Tutor and Sports Massage Practitioner, he dispenses the highest levels of advice. He has represented Great Britain in the marathon & cross country and carried the Olympic Torch on June 18th after winning his age category for a record 6th time in the London Marathon (plus, he commits a great deal of time supporting local charities). He loves the fact that running is a sport available to all & can advise on training & kit for all standards & all budgets. Matthew Pierson Matthew has managed Up & Running stores previously before training in Kenya as a sponsored athlete. He has experienced training at the highest level, but like Darran, strongly believes in the inclusive nature of running, jogging & walking. Matthew has run the half marathon in 65 minutes & is no slouch when it comes to other distances up to the marathon. He too has represented Great Britain in the marathon. Dominic Busby Dominic is a life long runner who, as a youth, represented Scotland in the 800 metres. A son of Harrogate, to hear him enthuse about the various running routes in the area inspires you to put on a pair of trainers & go out for a run! Ian Rowbotham Ian has been with Harrogate Up & Running for some years. Yet his enthusiasm for encouraging those new to running is still refreshing. An off road specialist, Ian has won many National prizes in fell running including his age category in the BOFRA Championships. He takes groups out from the Harrogate Hydro & from Ripon. Like Darran, Matthew & Dominic, he is a running 'nut' with an encyclopaedic knowledge of running shoes & apparel. |
