Harry started running in 2004 with his first race being the Harrogate Theatre Race. Since then Harry has completed a couple of Great North Runs and marathons in London, New York and Paris. Harry is an active member of Harrogate Harriers and a UK athletics level 1 coach. James has been involved in athletics since he was 13 and had junior success as a decathlete before moving to 400m hurdles as senior, placing 10th at AAAs under 23 championships and making the British Universities final in 2010. Ian enjoys running adventures. At the tender age of 40 he ran the london Marathon in 2:48. Since then he has moved towards trail and off road running as well. He has completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in 3:34, was placed 7th V50 in The English Fell Championships, and has been the BOFRA V50 fell champion. A coach at Harrogate Harriers and Ripon Runners, he welcomes any opportunity to discuss running style, training plans, kit and shoes. Glen says "my running experiences on home soil started with the first London Marathon in 1980. Nowadays an active member of Harrogate Harriers, where I occupy the role of membership sec. I once considered myself to be the fastest banjo player over 10 miles in North Yorkshire; but fear this is has not been the case for some time! " Chris is a member of Skyrac AC, having joined the club in 2006 after deciding to take up running out of the blue. He attempts distances ranging from 400m-1500m, with limited success. |

Up & Running Harrogate is proud to support Andy Dennis a HDU Intensive Care Nurse & Jonathan Walker owner of Gambaru Fitness in their marathon challenge. On Friday 13th April they will running a marathon each on treadmills in the window of Gambaru fitness opposite Up & Running. All money raised will be going to 'Doctors without Borders'. If you are passing why not call in and lend you support. |

It's important that your running shoes fit correctly: our trained staff can help find the right shoes for you: in a short session on our treadmill they can do a video gait analysis using sophisticated Dartfish software. Find out more about gait analysis at UP & RUNNING. NB if you would like to enjoy the full benefits of our gait analysis system and shoe-fitting service, please arrive at least half an hour before shop closing time.

Either run round them both or when just begining running, start with Swinsty about 3 miles. Or call in for ideas for some great local running routes...
