Gilly the Store Manager, runs for Otley AC. Favorite run is around the Washburn Valley reservoirs. Favorite kit - Salomon trail shoes and her rapidly expanding Buff collection. Michael runs everything from 5k to Marathon (he won the 2009 Blackpool Marathon, and recently came 2nd Vet40 (13th overall) in the Edinburgh marathon clocking 2hr 38.34 in tough conditions), and may even try an Ultra one day! Favourite kit is the Garmin 405, a great training tool. Stephen the assistant manager, loves fell and trail running (he's a former junior international fell runner). Fave kit - Saucony Kinvara and Salomon Speedcross. Steve has been running for 47 years, and now competes occasionally for Otley AC. A personal trainer, his favorite kit is Garmin, kettlebells, and fitballs. Jacob is an international long jumper with high hope of making the 2012 Olympics! He is currently in his final year at LMU studying Biomedical Sciences. Jacob is a member of Manchester Sale harriers and competes in the long jump, triples jump and sprints on a regular basis. His favourite bits of kit are his Brooks Adrenaline running shoes and Timex Ironman watch with I-pod control! Loving the tunes! Jacob has size 14.5 shoes and can advise customers with large feet as to what shoes are available in these sizes! Bridget has run regularly for over 20 years, 10k to marathon, mostly non-competitively with the occasional period of racing inspired by fellow members of Otley AC. After suffering repeated injuries for many years came across a technique for running called ChiRunning that promised reduced injuries and greater running efficiency: it worked so well that she trained as an instructor. Favourite kit is Inov8 X Talons and Asics Hyper Speeds. Jennette has completed Race For Life four times and enjoys jogging and power walking. Favorite kit includes Ronhill tees, Groundhog socks, and the Brooks Glycerin. Rebecca loves mountain-biking and love srunning (when the weather's nice!). Favorite kit - toe-socks, they have great grip and are ideal for yoga and pilates. James plays for Wharfedale RUFC and competes in the Abbey Dash most years, has tried most types of running and fancies a go at triathlon in the future, and his favorite kit is the Skins 400 range. |

Informed opinion from our knowledgable staff and key customers ... Nike + Sport Band
If you want something that's small, easy to use and looks great, you NEED to get this. It tells you distance, calories, stopwatch and pace, using footpod technology. As well as brilliant online features, you can set up challenges with people all over the world. To get the most out of it the best thing to do is calibrate the band with your own running style. Accuracy is not amazing but at £40 pounds you can not beat it! Review by Steve, 2011 Helly Hansen Frost HoodyLightweight HH Lifa, and surprisingly warm hoody! Amazing as an over layer in colder weather, but also comfortable enough to wear by itself as a single layer in milder conditions. Review by Rebecca, 2011 Ronhill Pink High Viz JacketVery lightweight and also provides a bit more warmth and visibility when on the road. It is compatible with the Vizion L.E.D. and the pink is a bit more feminine than the traditional yellow. I'm very happy with it. Review by Rebecca, 2011 Is there a product you'd like to see reviewed here? Contact the shop to get their thoughts. |
