Chris is a member of the mighty Skyrac AC, having joined the club in 2006 after deciding to take up running out of the blue.
He attempts distances ranging from 400m-1500m, with limited success. Having said this, Chris and his coaching team think the World 800m record
is a realistic target for him to chase over the coming years. Watch this space!

Glen says "my running experiences
on home soil started with the first London Marathon in 1980. Nowadays
an active member of Harrogate Harriers, where I occupy the role of
membership sec. I once considered myself to be the fastest banjo player
over 10 miles in North Yorkshire; but fear this is has not been the
case for some time! " |
Adrian is the newest member of staff at Harrogate.

Asics Cumulus 10
These have been an excellent shoe. When I first started running I had a couple of pairs of Asics which were brilliant but following a few design changes
I had struggled to find a comfortable pair and tried out a few other makes. I then went back to Asics and had the Cumulus 9 which I found took ages to run in
and get comfortable although they did get there after about seven or eight long runs.
The Cumulus 10 have been a different story, they felt really comfortable the first time I tried them on. They provide a good fit round the foot and you feel
like your foot is snug and secure but not restricted. The sole is really supportive and gives great cushioning while you run. They have also changed the lacing
slightly which has also helped the fit and comfort of the shoe. These shoes felt like a perfect fit from the first time I ran in them and took no running in at all.
They are probably the best shoes I have run in and the fact they were so comfortable from the first run has been a real bonus.

NRG Ladies Running Capri Tights
What an amazing product! These shorts are so comfortable to wear - they are indeed like a second skin. So warm - making running outside possible in chilly conditions. So stretrchy - accomodating cross training and aerobics in the gym. So cooling - the scientific nature of the fabric keeps you fresh, cool and dry allowing for greater distance. So safe - with the reflective lines. And finally so well designed - with the discreet pocket in the back. All-in-all an excellent piece of running kit.

A great place to run if you want to get out of Harrogate and favourite with a lot of the Up & Running Staff is Swinsty and
Fewston Reservoirs, 10 miles or so to the West of Harrogate.
Either run round them both or when just begining running, start with Swinsty about 3 miles. |
