Hello and welcome to Up &
Running, NI @ Newry!
We hope you enjoy browsing the site and our TalkBack forum, the most active running-talk forum in NI.
Latest: we are now open late on Thursdays, to 8pm
The Newry Team ... Michael,
managed two marathons in 2007 - namely Belfast in 3.52 and New York in 4.01- Larne and Lisburn halves and amongst others, the ever-popular Portaferry 10 in July. Running the business (no pun intended) eats into valuable running time but this 'social runner' is much more at home
running the hills, sand-dunes and beaches of Donegal and the North Down coastline than racing competitively.
Catriona,
currently managing the Newry branch. Lagan Valley AC runner who is presently recovering from a
troubling knee injury which has kept her out of (running) action since last April!
Looking forward to working on future Up & Running events later this year...watch this space.
Sara, keen rower with Belfast Rowing Club, currently trying to improve her sculling skills, and who runs as part of her fitness training. Sara is also a fully qualified sports massage therapist, based in Lisburn. Partial to a large American(o) as part of her daily consumption!
Sinead,
outdoor mad, happy to try anything (sporty!). Interests so far include
achievements in triathlon, climbing and Saturday night dance-offs! Presently studying photography,
although is a fully qualified sports massage therapist and Fitness Trainer.
Brendan,
ambitious 400m runner with Lisburn AC, who has posted some impressive
times to date. Currently completing his degree in sports physiology in Preston. He is the
shop's resident film and music buff! For his next birthday he has requested a 12ft sub from
Subway, which he refuses to share!
