Shoe Review - Mizuno Inspire 17

Up & Running and Mizuno ambassador, Agi Maczko, tells us why she loves the Mizuno inspire series and why this latest version hasn't disappointed.

I have been using the Mizuno Wave Inspire series for nearly 5 years now and was really excited to try the Wave Inspire 17s with the new Enerzy foam technology.

I wear UK 5.5 running shoes – half a size bigger than my causal shoes and the Inspire 17s are a perfect fit straight out of the box, as I expected. They provide the usual snug and secure feel and the air mesh material is really soft and light.

These shoes have got a fresh, clean look and the colourways are eye catching, too.

The inspire 17 is an upgrade to the inspire 16 and I was curious to see the differences between the two models.

The Inspire 17s have a full ground contact outsole and after running some miles in them I can say they really do contribute to a smoother ride. The most noticeable difference is how much bouncier, softer and more responsive the shoes feel thanks to the new Mizuno Enerzy Foam in the midsole.

It was a joy running in them and my feet are comfortable and happy. As a heel striker and slight overpronator it is very important for me to have the right support shoes not only to reduce the risk of injury but to enable me to run my best even on the hardest runs.
The Wave Inspire 17s are perfect for the job and I cannot wait to run more miles in them. I use these shoes on a variety of runs, I find them perfect when running longer distances but also on shorter and faster training runs. The Inspire 17 will definitely be my first choice of shoe for my next half marathon race. Fingers crossed very soon.
